Mission & History

No Longer Bound is grass a roots community based prevention services organization which began as a volunteer organization in 1985 called Minority Communities Coordinating Council. No Longer Bound's mission is to enhance community empowerment. It has been addressing the drug abuse, alcohol, and other drug stimulated anti-social behavior. These problems include crime, disintegration of family, poverty, low academic achievement, vandalism, and anti-social behavior.

No Longer Bound began its work as a community accomplishment of the corporation for National Services. V.I.S.T.A. (Volunteers In Service To America) project in 1990. Working within high-risk communities, No Longer Bound has an illustrious history of providing critical programs to Bucks County residents, with services increasingly focused on low-income women, children, and families. In 1991, NLB became a funded prevention agency offering programs and alternative activities, free, to the low-income community effective 1993. NLB was incorporated, and in 1995 NLB become the first African American grass roots prevention agency to be licensed in the State of Pennsylvania.
